Useful Information

Is your room easy to access?

My first floor room is close to the High Street in Street, Somerset.  There is some on road parking nearby which is unlimited by time and there are also numerous car parks within a short distance from my office.  The main bus stops are a few minutes walk away.  At present, I am unable to offer in-person appointments at my location in Glastonbury.  However, online or telephone counselling is available if you are unable to travel to my counselling room.

Do I need a GP referral to see you?

No.  I own an independent practice and therefore you can contact me directly to arrange an appointment.

I work during the day, can I still see you?

I offer a number of evening appointments and also offer sessions on a Saturday morning.

I can’t tell you what’s wrong with me but I know I need support.  Can you still help?

Yes.  The important thing is that you are taking the first step and choosing to undertake counselling.  When we work together, you will get the opportunity to explore your situation in your own time and in a safe, supportive environment.  As counselling continues, you will gain more clarity and understanding, empowering you to move forward in a way that’s beneficial to you.

I have a strict belief system, can you still help me?

As a person centred counsellor, my role is to understand what you are experiencing from your perspective and without judgement.  This means that I am able to offer you effective support regardless of any belief system you may have.

Do you charge for the initial appointment?

Yes.  Appointments are usually one hour long but for the initial session, I suggest you allow up to 75 minutes.  This gives you the opportunity to experience a full one hour session whilst also having time to ask any questions you may have.  I believe this gives you the best chance of being able to make an informed decision as to whether or not you wish to continue working with me.  The charge for the 75 minute initial appointment is the same as any other one hour session.
